What is EDITOR PRO?
EDITOR PRO is the online hex editor by Chip-Tools SRL, designed specifically for ECU tuning. Works directly in the browser, no installation needed: upload two .bin, .ori or .hex files (original and modified) and get a byte-by-byte comparison with automatic ECU detection, memory zones, maps, and checksum calculation.

Same size ≠ same file: an important insight
Two .bin files with identical size (for example both 4096 KB) can still be completely different. Picture it this way: a 1-litre bottle filled to the brim, and a 1-litre bottle filled only halfway, have the same physical size — but the amount of water inside is not the same. The same is true for .bin files.
The classic mistake: OBD-read file flashed via bench
An example from workshop reality: you read an ECU via OBD. Result: a .bin file of, say, 4096 KB. Then you want to flash the same ECU via bench. What happens? The bench write routine expects all bytes, but OBD reading often provides only part of the data — the rest are FF or 00 placeholders. If this incomplete file gets flashed back: the ECU goes into bricked state — engine control lost, costly workshop damage.
